can offer advice on available camping and campsites in the area.
Camping Saint Malo
Camping in Saint Malo is easy due to the large number of campsites in the region. However in summertime it is definitely wise to book early to avoid disappointment.
The local municipal campsites are cheap and friendly and slightly out of town. They do not have many resources for children but they do benefit from being close to the beach.
The main address for the municipal campsites is:
Camping Nicet is the most spacious of the three. It is the one shown in the photographs on this page and as you can see it is close to the beach. However that does mean that it can be windy and some parts of the campsite are quite exposed. If it blows you will need vey secure tent pegs.
Av de la Varde
Open from the 4 of July to 29th August (2008)
Check for slight date variations.
Camping Nielles has less space but better beach access. As I recall there is just one minor raod between the campsite and the beach.
Av John Kennedy
Camping des Ilots is slightly further from the beach but does offer slightly more privacy, however there are some pitches close to the road which is quite busy, so it's worth enquiring about this point.
Av de la Guimorais
None of the above sites are large enough to have on site shops. St Malo is just a short drive away tough so you won't have far to go for supplies.
Still out of town you'll find Camping de la Fontaine a fully featured campsite with swimming pool, wi-fi internet access, shop, etc.
They are open all the year round and the rates are standard for the region. Around 4 kilometers from the beach so you'll need to plan to go to the beach for the day if you have young children as the roads in between the campsite and the beach are main regional roads.
